Interdisciplinary education in sustainability.

Nowadays, pursuing sustainability requires that specialized educations go with educations for the integration of knowledge. The various involvement and open exchanges of the different scientific analysis must therefore converge towards a global understanding of the problem, ensuring the student/teacher not only the opportunity to explore in depth different single - dimensional views of the problem subject of the study but also to capture a multidimensional vision based on interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, the School aims to bring the skills into a new humanism of knowledge, and therefore, operates with the final goal of sustainability focused on the value of the person.

Objectives

  • Main:
    •  Open the specialized scientific knowledge to constructive dialogue with other disciplines;

    • Acquire a method to achieve the integration of specialized knowledge in contexts like study, research, and also in view of subsequent professional tasks. 

  • Secondary:
    • Scientific Production - Development of joint research topics, publications, journal of the school, series of volumes;

    • Certificate of participation /award credits /teaching qualification.

To whom it is addressed

  • Undergraduates (all the disciplines);

  • Graduates (all the disciplines);

  • Post Graduates (all the disciplines);

  • Scholars/Teachers who want to cultivate international relationships for research and study purposes and cultural exchanges, especially when focusing sensibility in sustainability and interdisciplinary issues.

How

  • Interdisciplinary seminars held by relevant personalities from all over the world (e.g., scientists bestowed of the Nobel award or other major international awards/ eminent teachers/distinguished experts on the subject/guru/"sustainable" entrepreneurs);

  • Round table/meeting;

  • After dinner – informal meetings.

When

  • About 2 weeks in Italy, Bari on 7/16 December (winter school);

  • About 2 weeks in Italy, Bari on May (summer school).

Fees

  • Free (paid by sponsors of St. Nicholas’ School) for teachers and students selected through partner Universities;

  • Free for students of the Universities of Apulia region and for other Universities of the Federation of University of Molise, Apulia and Basilicata (for a limited number of chairs);

  • Directly paid by the participants in all other cases.
